Google Releases Full Report On Street View Investigation, Finds That Staff Knew About Wi-Fi Sniffing
Earlier today Google released the full report of the FCC's investigation into the collection of? "payload data" from open Wi-Fi networks -- aka passwords, email and search history from open networks -- that its fleet of Street View cars obtained between 2008 and April 2010. An earlier and heavily redacted version of the report was released on April 15 but today's version only redacted the names of individuals. The report found no violation of any wrong doing by the company because there was no legal precedent on the matter. The FCC found that Google did not violate the Communications Act citing the fact that Wi-Fi did not exist when it was written. However,?the FCC did fine Google $25,000 for obstructing the investigation, which was presumably the outcome of Google refusing to show the FCC what the data being collected entailed because it might have shown that the company broke privacy and wiretapping laws. Google says any obstruction was result of the FCC dragging out the investigation. Interestingly enough, the report did reveal that the data harvesting was not the act of a rogue engineer and that said engineer notified the Street View team of what was going on. (Wait. What? Leaked materials give us a sneak peek at the EVO 4G LTE marketing campaign, suggest a May 18 release
This morning we're getting a first look at what the promotional blitz for the upcoming EVO 4G LTE will look like, courtesy of the fine folks over at Good and EVO. In addition to the packaging for Sprint's next flagship seen above, the website also got its hands on a few marketing images which tout the device's ImageSense-powered camera and built-in Beats Audio. Along with the leak comes some information about a release date, too: the next EVO will launch on May 18 with a $199.99 price tag, with preorders beginning on May 7, the website says.
Sure, leaks like this aren't set in stone, but based on the quality of material, we're going to go ahead and hope that this source knows what they're talking about. We'll continue to keep our ears to the ground; as we all patiently wait, check out the EVO 4G LTE marketing materials below.

LG Optimus True HD LTE's European assault begins in Portugal, Germany and Sweden
While the latest LTE and HD equipped addition to LG's Optimus line has already landed across Asia (Korea, Japan) and North America (US - AT&T, US - Verizon, Canada) under a few different names, the newly rebranded Optimus True HD LTE is finally prepared for a European debut. As seen by the flags flying above, this week LG will begin rolling out to Portugal, Germany and Sweden, with Britain and France on deck for the second half of the year when LTE service is available. The other flags present represent further Asian rollouts in Hong Kong and Singapore. The plan, described in the Korean press release linked below, is apparently to make LG synonymous with LTE, although we can't see how renaming its current dual-core standard bearer every other week is helping.

Leaked T-Mobile docs give ICS update schedule for Sensation 4G, Galaxy S II, and Amaze 4G
TmoNews got their hands on a leaked enterprise calendar from T-Mobile corporate, and tucked in the rest of the news was the proposed dates for the Ice Cream Sandwich rollout for the Samsung Galaxy S II, the HTC Sensation 4G, and the HTC Amaze 4G. I won't tease:
- The Galaxy S II is slated to be updated May 14
- The Sensation 4G and Amaze 4G are expected to be updated June 16
Of course things like this are subject to change, but the time frame sounds about right. Be on the lookout for ROMs to leak, we sure will be.
