There are many variables to consider when selling your home, including choosing the correct price.? According to the 2012 Prudential Fox & Roach Agent Survey, the most important factors to consider when pricing a home are neighboring home values, local market conditions, and location. Other agent responses in the survey noted that homeowners can make the mistake of considering emotional attachments to their home when pricing.
Below are a few tips to keep in mind to avoid these mistakes:
- Housing markets are local. You and your realtor should pay close attention to the listing and sale prices of the homes in your neighborhood.
- Pay attention to who is buying and selling in your market.? Agents predict that first time homebuyers will drive the market, and this could alter what they are shopping for.? Keep track of the other homes for sales.
- Trust your real estate agent.? It is important to find an agent who understands your needs and can explain the state of the market.? For more information on finding the right real estate agent, read our previous blog post, here.
